UBC Applied Science hosts a diverse range of student groups, representing different communities such as design teams and industry chapters. We provide a comprehensive collection of resources and guides to assist these student groups in their operations and establishment. As you explore our website, you will discover that each student group has its unique affiliations and characteristics.

By joining a student group, be it student government, a club, or a design team, you will not only enhance your academic skill set but also forge connections with individuals who share similar interests and goals. Engaging in a project, concept, or initiative within a student group allows you to dedicate your time and contribute to meaningful endeavors while fostering valuable relationships.

To maintain status as an official APSC-affiliated Student Group, an eligible group has to complete a number of tasks, including the Student Renewal Form known as超级应用ion. Find out more under your respective student group section below!

Types of Student Groups

Engineering Design Teams

UBC Engineering Design Teams, referred to as Teams or EDTs, are extracurricular groups comprised of UBC students. These teams share a common goal of gaining valuable experience in design, competition, teamwork, and leadership.

E-IDEAS (EDI Affinity)

E-IDEAS (Engineering - Inclusion, Diversity, Equity Advancement for Students) empowers EDI Affinity student groups with support, networking and professional development opportunities, mentorship and career resources to cultivate an environment that and reflects the intersectionality of the UBC Engineering student body.

Department Clubs

Department clubs at UBC for engineering students offer opportunities to engage deeply with their specific field of study outside of the classroom. These clubs provide platforms for further exploration, learning, and participation.

Professional Chapters

Professional Chapters and Industry Associations are organizations formed by professionals within a specific industry or field. They represent the interests of professionals and promote their respective professions. These chapters serve as valuable platforms for networking, continuous learning, and advocacy.

Engineering Undergraduate Society

The Engineering Undergraduate Society proudly represents over 4,500 engineering students across 14 department clubs. Every engineering student at the University of British Columbia is a member of the EUS. As a student-run organization, they are dedicated to enhancing your UBC experience and continually strives to make it the best it can be.
